Cruise Loch Ness News

August News Update

July has been another busy month for Cruise Loch Ness. Our brand new RIB the 'NESS EXPLORER' was delivered on the 14th July to rapturous applause from our crew and customers! In four weeks she has already racked up an impressive 120 hours of running time and proved herself to be a popular addition to our fleet.

Our two new boats, NESS EXPRESS and NESS EXPLORER, have both been busy filming in July. It started with a visit from the BBC's coast programme who are making their new series due to be aired next year. The episode is about the Great Glen and Loch Ness and should be worth watching. As will Tiger Aspect Medias' new programme, 'Wild Swimming with Robson Green', which has an episode that was filmed in the Loch. The NESS EXPLORER was despatched to the other end of Loch Ness to be the filming platform. Luckily (for Robson!) the 6am start was a beautiful sunny morning, so the dip in the freezing Loch waters wasn't too bad!

The Crew were on a night out to the Dores Inn with the NESS EXPRESS and had a chance meeting with a Microlight with a film camera onboard! The resulting video can be watched here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCooJK-q4Ug

Following on from the success of Rockness festivals mini gig onboard the Royal Scot, we were hired for Belladrums Tartan Heart Festival. The Bellaboat (The Royal Scot!) played host to Pearl and the Puppets and their support 'Rachel Sermanni' who played an exclusive gig for just 60 lucky ticket holders. The evening went without a hitch and the we were treated not only to some excellent music, but also a fantastic sunset over Urquhart Castle.

What will the rest of August Bring ???

May and June News update

May was a busy month for 'The Royal Scot' and the 'Ness Express'.

Cruises depart daily on the hour, every hour from 10:00 – 16:00

May was a busy month onboard the Royal Scot, the month started with a Stag party for a local DJ and his friends. This was a roaring success and was swiftly followed by two weddings! One wedding was a local couple who wanted to tie the knot on Loch Ness (who wouldn't ?) Whilst the other was a French Canadian couple. The staff and crew of Cruise Loch Ness wish the happy couples good fortune for the years ahead.

Meanwhile June was a rocking succes with the 'Royal Scot' and the 'Ness Express' both being hired for the organisers of the Rockness music festivals pre festival party. We had several artistes playing accoustic sets onboard the 'Royal Scot' with the 'Ness Express' ferrying partygoers from Dores beach to the Royal Scot. This was followed by 'Clash music magazine' who held a private party with 'Kinky affro' (resident DJ at Glasgows SUB CLUB) doing a set for Rockness fans.

At the end of the month John Sargent (strictly come dancing, BBC news.) Came to do some filming for a new programme called John Sargents Tourist Trail. This is scheduled to be aired in the Autumn and should be worth watching.

Powerboat Delivery

Cruise Loch Ness have taken delivery of our new 10m Humber/Quinquari RIB "Ness Express" last week and we've placed a second order with Quinquari marine; "Ness Explorer" will be delivered in early July. Both boats are 10m long and powered by a 315hp Yannmar diesel.

We are the only company on Loch Ness operating these boats, and they are proving a very popular and exciting complement to our other cruises.
